Clan Macdowall is a Scots clan. The clan claims tae descend frae the senior descendants in the male line o the princely hoose o Fergus, first o the auncient Lairds o Gallowa. The main branches o the faimily include the MacDowalls o Garthland, the Makdougals o Makerston, the MacDoualls o Logan, the MacDoualls o Freugh, an the MacDowalls o Machrimore.
