Orenburg Oblast (Roushie: Оренбу́ргская о́бласть, Orenburgskaya oblast) is a federal subject o Roushie (an oblast). Its admeenistrative center is the ceety o Orenburg. Frae 1938 tae 1957, it bore the name Chkalov Oblast (Чка́ловская о́бласть) in honor o Valery Chkalov. Population: 2,033,072 (2010 Census).[5]
