Reading Football Club (Listeni/ˈrɛdɪŋ/ RED-ing) is a perfaisional association fitbaw club based in Reading, Berkshire, Ingland. The team play in the Championship, the seicont tier o Inglis fitbaw.

Reading hae the nickname The Royals due tae the toun's location in the Royal County of Berkshire. Foondit in 1871, the club is wan of the auldest in Ingland, takkin until 1920 for the club tae jyn the Football League. Thay played in the heichmaist league in Inglis, the Premier League, for the first time in the 2006–07 saison.

The club played at Elm Park for 102 years atween 1896 and 1998.[2] In 1998, the club muivit tae the new Madejski Stadium, which is named efter the club's co-chairman Sir John Madejski.
