Perm Krai (Roushie: Пе́рмский край, Permsky kray) is a federal subject o Roushie (a krai) that came intae existence on December 1, 2005 as a result o the 2004 referendum on the merger o Perm Oblast an Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug. The ceety o Perm is the admeenistrative center. Population: 2,635,276 (2010 Census).[8]
Komi-Permyak Okrug retained its autonomous status athin Perm Krai durin the transitional period o 2006–2008. It an aw retained a budget separate frae that o the krai, keepin aw federal transfers. Stairtin in 2009, Komi-Permyak Okrug's budget became subject tae the budgetin law o Perm Krai. The transitional period wis implementit in pairt acause Komi-Permyak Okrug relees hivily on federal subsidies, an an abrupt cut wad hae been detrimental tae its economy.
