Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsantə kuˈɫomə ðə ɣɾəməˈnɛt]) (informally simply kent as Santa Coloma; historically kent as Gramenet del Besòs an aw) is a ceety in Catalonie, Spain. It is situatit on the sooth-east side o the Litoral range, wi the Puig Castellar (299 m) as its heichest point, on the left bank o the Besòs river: the municipalities o Sant Adrià de Besòs an Badalona separate it frae the coast. It is essentially a banlieue (or suburb) o Barcelona.

The aurie haes been inhabitit syne at least the Iberic period, and the remains o a Iberic veelage hae been foond on Puig Castellar. The airtifacts are hoosit in a museum in La Torre Balldovina, a biggin datin frae the 18t hunderyear. Other notable buildings include the renaissance palace of La Torre Pallaresa and the noucentista Clínica Mental.

In November 2008, the ceety made warldwide news bi instawin solar panels on tap o crypts in the local cemetery, in an effort tae help fecht climate change.[1]
