Monistrol de Montserrat (Catalan pronunciation: [munisˈtɾɔɫ də munsəˈrat]) is a municipality in the comarca o the Bages in Catalonie, Spain. The municipality includes the soothren twa-thirds o the massif o Montserrat an the famous Benedictine monastery o the same name. The toun, kent as Montserrat-Vila, is situatit on the eastren flank o the massif abuin the valley o the Llobregat river: it is connectit wi the monastery (heicher up) an wi the railwey station in the valley (FGC line R5) bi a rack railwey (Cremallera de Montserrat). The C-1411 road links the toun wi Martorell an Manresa. The brig ower the Llobregat river dates frae the fowerteent hunderyear. The municipality includes a smaw exclave tae the north-wast.
