The name comes frae jiang, short for the ceety o Jiangning (nou Nanjing), an su, for the ceety o Suzhou. The abbreviation for this province is "" (sū), the seicont character o its name.[2] It is the province wi the heichest population density in Cheenae, though the provincial-level municipalities o Shanghai, Beijing, an Tianjin hae a heicher density.
