Bustan al-Basha (Arabic: بستان الباشا, spellt Bistan al-Basha an aw; translation: "the Govrenor's Garden") is a veelage locatit alang the Mediterranean coastline in northren Sirie, pairt o the Latakia Govrenorate. It is situatit sootheast o Latakia an wast o Qardaha. In the 2004 census Bustan al-Basha haed a population o 1,603.[1] Mast o its inhabitants are Alawites an the veelage is hame tae the Makhlouf family who are relatit tae the Assad faimily. Accordin tae Patrick Seale, Bustan al-Basha's residents wur maistly aligned wi Sirie Social Naitionalist Pairty in the mid-20t-century.[2]
