blank categories

[eedit soorce]

Please do not create blank category pages. It's not particularly helpful, but thank you for contributions to Sco.wiki! –MJLTauk 16:33, 25 Januar 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Sorry! The category pages I made weren't intended to be blank. I was just trying to get rid of redlinks on a lot of categories on the mainpage and generally help categorisation. --Bangalamania (tauk) 23:41, 25 Januar 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Draft page

[eedit soorce]

Hi, it looks like you tried to make a draft page on this wiki. Unfortunately sco.wiki doesn't currently have a draft space, so if you're looking for your draft MJL (collogue · contreebs) has moved it to Wikipedia:Draft/Northumbrian dialect. If you want a draft space added there's currently a proposal at Wikipedia:Mercat_Cross#(en)_Recommending_MediaWiki_Draft_namespace_called_Scroll you can contribute to, though the name of the space is currently a bit contentious. my_hat_stinks (tauk) 20:12, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

@My hat stinks: Thank you! --Bangalamania (tauk) 20:22, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Scots politics

[eedit soorce]

(en) Hi, I see you are getting into the much neglected Scots politics articles (thanks!). Just to let you know, I made a specific stub for them yesterday: {{Stub/scotpol}}. soothrhins (tauk) 10:40, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Ah thank you! I'll be sure to use that tag. --Bangalamania (tauk) 10:41, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Thank ye! 😃 --Bangalamania (tauk) 14:00, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Scots level?

[eedit soorce]

Not to sound discouraging, but you're crrating a lot of articles for someone who isn't particularly fluent in the leid according to their userpage. Does this mean you can contibute with a higher profiency of Scots than you originally self-reported? –MJLTauk 20:31, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

@MJL: Not trying to avoid the question, but I honestly can't answer that myself as I find it so difficult to judge. Most feedback I have received from Scots speakers tends to be positive with a few minor corrections. But I don't feel like I'm at sco-3 level.
If you'd rather I held off for a bit on creating articles, I understand. --Bangalamania (tauk) 21:01, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]
It's all you. If you feel you speak Scots well enough to justify article creation, then I'm not going to say you shouldn't. –MJLTauk 22:50, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

Cut and paste moves

[eedit soorce]

Please do not move category pages by cutting and pasting as you did when you emptied (or "cut") the contents of Category:Filosofie o psychology and then pasted them into Category:Philosophy o psychology. Please also see en:Template:Uw-c&pmove for more information. Other than that, thanks for all your hard work. Sincerely, Sije (tauk) 08:59, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[replie]

(en) Hi, I've removed the {{delete}} off 1932, not because the reasoning isn't correct, but that there would be a knock on effect for other years in a similar state (e.g. 1926). So I've made the judgement that either {{fixscots}} + {{Context needit}} or a VfD proposal with a collection of years would be more appropriate. Thanks. soothrhins (tauk) 23:43, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[replie]

A barnstar for you!

[eedit soorce]
The Original Barnstar
To be honest Bangalamania, you constantly worry me. Not because you have done anything wrong, but because you seem to learn and grow so quickly I sometimes think that I won't be able to keep up with you! If there was ever a new user who I felt best mirrored (and surpassed) my early contributions, it'd probably have to be you. Thank you so much! –MJLTauk 06:08, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[replie]
Wow, thank you so much! All I can say is I try my best :) --Bangalamania (tauk) 12:52, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[replie]

(in Inglis) Next editathon

[eedit soorce]

Hey there, as a previous attendee of a Scots Wiki editathon, I thought you might like to know about the December event, Sat 12 & Sun 13th. In addition to the usual wiki support, this month I'm really excited to say that we'll have language support in place from the Scots Language Centre, who'll be online between 12-3 on Zoom on Saturday with us to help with any of your queries.

There are as always jobs that non/lower level Scots speakers can do - articles always need things like citations, categories, wikilinks & images. There's a lot of work like this to be done, and it's all really valuable!

Hope to see you there!Sara Thomas (WMUK) (tauk) 14:55, 8 Dizember 2020 (UTC)

(in Inglis) Sunday 13th December - extra zoom session with the Scots Language Centre!
