Lumparland is a municipality o Åland, an autonomous territory o Finland. It is the smawest municipality on mainland Åland.
The municipality haes a population o 365 (28 Februar 2023)[2] an covers a aurie o 87.04 square kilometre (33.61 sq mi) o which 50.8 km2 (19.6 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population densitie is 10.07 inhabitants per square kilometre (26.1/sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Swadish.
The main veelage is Klemetsby, whaur thare is a bank, a kirk, a post office an a schuil. Klemetsby is 35 kilometre (22 mi) awa frae Mariehamn. The ferry port o Långnäs is situatit in the eastren pairt o Lumparland.
Lumparland wis the last municipality in Finland tae establish its awn wabsteid which happened in 2004.
The municipality haes previously been kent as "'Lumparlanti" in some Finnish documents an aw,[5] but is the day referred tae as "Lumparland" in Finnish an aw.

[eedit | edit soorce]The Kirk o Lumparland, dedicatit tae St. Andra, is the auldest survivin firthen kirk in Åland, datin back tae the 1720s. Inside the kirk, the altar paintin is the work o Victor Westerholm. Thare is a miniatur ship frae 1836 inside the kirk an aw.

[eedit | edit soorce]Lumparland borders the eastren edge o a billion-year-auld nine-kilometre wide watter filled impact crater, Lumparn, which is devoid o islands.
Lumpokasen (60.7 m or 199 ft) is the heichest point in the municipality.
