A leadin transcendentalist,[2] Thoreau is best kent for his beuk Walden, a reflection upon simple livin in naitural surroondins, an his essay "Civil Disobedience" (oreeginally published as "Resistance to Civil Government"), an argument for disobedience tae an unjust state.
