Akaa (Swadish: Ackas) is a toun an a municipality in Pirkanmaa, Finland. It wis creatit on Januar 1, 2007 when the toun o Toijala an the municipality o Viiala wur unitit intae a single toun. The municipality o Kylmäkoski wis consolidatit wi Akaa on 1 Januar 2011.[6]

The convert haes a population o 16,628 (31 Januar 2019)[2] an covers an aurie o 314.38 square kilometre (121.38 sq mi) o which 21.24 km2 (8.20 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population densitie is 56.72 inhabitants per square kilometre (146.9/sq mi).

Akaa, as well as the toun o Toijala an the umwhile municipality o Viiala are situatit bi the lake Vanajavesi, which is the maist central watercourse in the Tavastie Proper region as well as in the soothren pairts o the Pirkanmaa region.
