It is locatit in the province o Wastren Finland, an is pairt o the Pirkanmaa region. The toun haes a population o 23,722 (28 Februar 2023)[2] an covers an aurie o 1,531.75 square kilometre (591.41 sq mi) o which 96.14 km2 (37.12 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population densitie is 18.37 inhabitants per square kilometre (47.6/sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
