Burgundy (French: Bourgogne, IPA: [buʁɡɔɲ] ( listen)) is ane o the 27 regions o Fraunce.

The name comes frae the Burgundians, an auncient Germanic fowk who settled in the aurie in early Middle-age. The region o Burgundy is baith larger than the auld Duchy o Burgundy an smawer than the aurie ruled bi the Dukes o Burgundy, frae the modren Netherlands tae the border o Auvergne. The climate o this region is essentially oceanic (Cfb in Köppen classification), wi a continental influence (sometimes cried a "hauf-continental climate").
