- I have granted you the magical power of being of the autopatrolled user right for the next six months since you have been extremely productive recently, and I don't want to have to patrol every single page you create anymore lol –MJL ‐Tauk‐☖ 06:08, 18 Dizember 2019 (UTC)
- @MJL: You wae patrolling mi content? Tha's kynd. Mi scots i still poor, glad I can bi o help. Lee Vilenski (tauk) 09:47, 18 Dizember 2019 (UTC)
- (You don't have to write in Scots on Project and talk pages lol) I gotta patrol every new page because I monitor Special:RecentChanges, but your content has been good enough that anything that does need correcting will eventually be swept up by WP:AWB. –MJL ‐Tauk‐☖ 16:22, 18 Dizember 2019 (UTC)

Strange Crimea articles
[eedit soorce]Hi,
I noticed that an anonymous IP-hopping editor from the Ukraine has been copying and pasting articles from the English Wikipedia, mainly about Crimea. Sometimes the articles aren't even about Crimea, such as Crimean urgent work, which was copied verbatim from en:Freelancer. I also noticed that a few of these English articles were automatically "Scots-ified" by you via AWB. Here is an example: [1]. Anyway, I decided to just delete all of them, since I can't see what purpose they could possibly serve. They're just English Wikipedia articles with a word substitution script applied to them. Do you know anything else about this editor? PiRSquared17 (tauk) 06:09, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Sadly I don'tPiRSquared17, I just payroll new changes and chuck the script on articles. I realise there is some back and forth around the reliance of word changes, but at least this way the articles aren't just written in English. Can't say I know more about these particular edits. (en) Thanks, question & request
[eedit soorce]- Hi, just wanted to say a quick thanks for the practical work you have been doing on the Scots Wiki. A fundamental problem has clearly developed with sco Wiki, part of which can only be sorted by fluent Scots speakers, but without Wikipedians with technical skills then it would be 'games a bogey'[2].
- My quick question is regarding process of WP:SPELL & Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Typos. When there is a clear resolution (I've not done all the referencing yet but, Keeng > King should be clear cut), should I move them to the settled section and add {{Urgent}} for someone to pick up and do?
- If that is the case, could you draft a wee bit of text explaining that process, and I'll translate and add it to the page so the full process is clear?

- Sure. Thanks for your kind words Soothrhins - quite happy to lend what little experience I have to the project to fix things. As you say, there is lots of issues that can only be resolved by native speakers - however there are lots of tasks designed around making it easier for those translations to make. Regex is a bit hard to learn, but I'll do something/create something for AWB in the first instance. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (tauk • contribs) 06:08, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Have 'settled' king in format I suggested, let me know if you think it could be improved. Soothrhins (tauk) 07:35, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

An aw
[eedit soorce]Hey, can ye remove "also = an aw" from yer AWB stuff? It's creating a lot of grammatical issues (an aw only ever goes at the end of a sentence). This was actually one of the issues that brought the whole situation to the public light CiphriusKane (tauk) 09:34, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Absolutely CiphriusKane - thanks for letting me know. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (tauk • contribs) 10:27, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Duin - [3] if you see any extras, let me know and I'll take them out. We need only ones that are non-controversial on AWB - which will help get some common mistakes removed - and ones like these removed. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (tauk • contribs) 10:30, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
