East Kazakhstan Province (Kazakh: Шығыс Қазақстан облысы, Şığıs Qazaqstan oblısı) is a province o Kazakhstan. It occupees the eastmaist pairt o Kazakhstan, alang baith sides o the Irtysh River an Lake Zaysan. Its caipital is Oskemen (referred tae as Ust-Kamenogorsk an aw). The province borders Roushie in the north an northeast an the Fowkrepublic o Cheenae (Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region) in the sooth an sootheast. The eastmaist point o the Oblast is vera near, athin 50 kilometers or so o the wastmaist tip o Mongolie; housomeivver, Kazakhstan an Mongolie dae no share a common border, the twa kintras being separatit bi a sma pairt o Roushie an Cheenae.
