Cornelio Saavedra is a province in the north-eastren pairts o the Bolivie Potosí Depairtment. The caipital o the province is Betanzos wi 4,168 inhabitants in the year 2001.[1]
The province is namit efter the preses o the Argentine First Junta, Cornelio Saavedra, who wis born in Otuyo, Betanzos Municipality.

[eedit | eedit soorce]Cornelio Saavedra province is ane o saxteen provinces in the Potosí Depairtment. It is locatit atween 18° 57' an 19° 44' Sooth an atween 64° 48' an 65° 39' Wast. It borders Chuquisaca Depairtment in the northeast, Chayanta Province in the north, Tomás Frías Province in the wast, an José María Linares Province in the sooth an sootheast. The province extends ower 95 km frae east tae wast an 105 km frae north tae sooth.

[eedit | eedit soorce]The main leid o the province is Quechua, spoken bi 78 %, while 47 % o the population speaks Spaingie. The population increased frae 52,659 inhabitants (1992 census) tae 58,706 (2001 census), an increase o 11.5 %.
80 % o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 94 % hae nae sanitary facilities. 69 % o the population are employed in agricultur, 1 % in minin, 10 % in industrie, 20 % in general services. 89 % o the population are Catholics, 8 % Protestants.
The fowk are predominantly indigenous ceetizens o Quechua descent.[2]
