Cáceres (pronoonced: [ˈkaθeɾes]) is the caipital o the same name province, in the autonomous community o Extremadura, Spain. Its population wis 91,131 inhabitants in 2009. The municipio haes a land aurie o 1,750.33 km², an is the lairgest in geographical extension in Spain.

There hae been settlements near Cáceres syne prehistoric times. Evidence o this can be foond in the caves o Maltravieso an El Conejar. The ceety wis foondit bi the Romans in 25 BC.

The auld toun (Ciudad Monumental) still haes its auncient waws; this pairt o toun is an aa well kent for its multitude o storks' nests.
