Aysel Teymurzadeh (Azerbaijani: Aysel Məhəmməd qızı Teymurzadə; born 25 Aprile 1989, Baku) is an Azerbaijani pop an R&B sangster.

Aysel wis born in the Azerbaijani caipital Baku, the youngest o the three dochters o a jurnalist an a varsity professor. She is a descendant o the nineteent-century Azerbaijani publicist Hasan bey Zardabi. Her maternal grandmither wis hauf-Roushie, hauf-Ukrainian.[1] Aysel stairtit tae sing at the age o fower an the piano became her passion syne bairnhuid.
Aysel graduatit frae the Intellect Lyceum in Baku an attendit Texas High School (Texarkana, Texas) in 2005–2006. Athin days o her arrival in the Unitit States, she signed up for the local choir an began trainin for young vocalists competitions.[2] While in the U.S., Aysel wan three gowd medals at contests held in the Southern Arkansas University an in the University of Texas at Austin.[2] In 2005, she pairticipatit in Saison 4 o the naitional song contest Yeni Ulduz ("New Star"). As o Januar 2009, Teymurzadeh wis majorin in International Relations at the Azerbaijan University o Leids.[3]

In Januar 2009, Teymurzadeh wis selectit internally bi İTV tae represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Roushie alang wi Iranian-Swadish sangster Arash[4] wi the sang "Always". Aysel became the first female sangster tae represent the kintra at the Eurovision Song Contest an anerlie the seicont act iver tae dae sae. On 16 Mey 2009, Aysel Teymurzadeh an Arash feenished third wi 207 pynts, amang the 25 performers that qualifeed for the Eurovision grand feenal.[5]

She starred in a heich profile TV commercial for Danone yogurts, which wis broadcast on Azerbaijani an Georgie TV channels.[10]
In 2012, Aysel Teymurzadeh wis amang five muisickers frae Azerbaijan chosen as the jury in the Dens naitional selection o the 2012 Eurovision contestant.[11]
