Salfit Govrenorate

The Salfit Govrenorate (Arabic: محافظة سلفيت‎) is ane o 16 Govrenorates o the Palestine. It is located in the northwastren Wast Bank, bordered bi the govrenorates o Ramallah an al-Bireh tae the sooth, Nablus tae the east an Qalqilya in the north as well as, Israel tae the wast. Its destrict caipital an lairgest ceety is Salfit. Accordin tae the Palestinian Central Bureau o Statistics (PCBS), the govrenorate haed a population o 64,129 inhabitants in mid-year 2006.^[1] In the PCBS's census in 1997, which registered 46,671 residents, refugees accoontit for 7.7% o the total population.^[2] There were 23,758 males and 22,913 females.^[3]
