Jaramana (Arabic: جرمانا‎) is a ceety in the Rif Dimashq Govrenorate in soothren Sirie. Its location, 10 kilometres sootheast o the Sirie caipital, maks it a bustlin toun in the greater Damascus metropolitan aurie, wi a Christian an Druze majority. Syne 2003 an the beginnin o the Iraq War, lairge numbers o Iraqi hae immigratit tae Jaramana, swellin the population frae aroond 100,000 tae ower 250,000.[2] Although the offeecial population wis leetit as 25,445.[3] 70% of the city is residential.[3]

There is an aw a Palestinian refugee camp near the toun bearin its same name. Jaramana is a favorite destination for Iraqi Assiries fleein their unstable kintra.

In October 2006, the Assirie community in Jaramana feenally receivit a priest frae Mosul, Iraq. The priest, Arkan Hana Hakim, claims there are nou 2000 Assirie Iraqis in Jaramana alane. [4]
