All the transcontinental countries wi territory in baith Europe an Asie are members o UEFA (Azerbaijan, Armenie, Georgie, Kazakhstan, Roushie, an Turkey). Israel is a UEFA member even tho it lees entirely in Asie an aw. On the ither haund, Australie, umwhile in the OFC, haes been in the AFC since 2006, an the Oceanie island o Guam, a territory o the Unitit States, is a member o AFC an aw.
Ane o FIFA's sax continental confederations, the AFC wis formit offeecially on 8 Mey 1954 in Manila, Philippines, on the sidelines o the seicont Asie Gemmes.
