Damanhur
Damanhur (Arabic: دمنهور Damanhūr, Egyptian: Dmỉ-n-Ḥr.w, Coptic: Ⲧⲙⲉⲛϩⲱⲣ, Greek: Ἑρμοῦ πόλις μικρά Hermopolis Mikra) is a ceety in Lower Egypt, an the caipital o the Beheira Govrenorate. It is located 70 km (43 mi) sootheast o Cairo, an 70 km (43 mi) northwast o Alexandria, in the middle o the wastren Nile Delta.

It is a Roman Catholic titular see.

Ahmed H. Zewail, who wan the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1999, wis born in Damanhur in 1946.

Later, the Egyptians returned the oreeginal auld name, an pronoonce it "Temenhor", an efter the Islamic conquest they misrepresentit the name tae its name in Arabic which is nou kent as "Damanhur".

Tomb o Yaakov Abuhatzeira [edit]
The toun contains the tomb o Yaakov Abuhatzeira (1805–1880) a Moroccan Rabbi who dee'd here in 1880 while on a pilgrimage tae the Land o Israel.
