  • Sardinie — follaein the ootcome o the regional referendums o 2012 it wis decreed that such institutions shoud be reformit or abolished bi Mairch 2013 (thus remainin in office till Februar 28, 2013).[1] In January 2014 the Sardinian Regional Administrative Court declared "unconstitutional" the abolition of the Sardinian provinces, which occurred in 2013.[2]. In 2016, Sardinie provinces wur reformit bi Sardinie regional executive: Cagliari became a Metropolitan Ceety; the provinces Olbia-Tempio, Ogliastra, Medio Campidano an Carbonia-Iglesias wur abolished[3]. In 2017, Regional cooncil o Sardinie appruivit the institution o a new province, Sooth Sardinie. It wis formit bi the municipalities o province o Cagliari that did no jyn tae Metropolitan Ceety o Cagliari, an those which belangit tae the provinces o Medio Campidano an Carbonia Iglesias[4].
  • Sicily — provinces wur replacit bi Free Communal Consortia in 2013.
  • Friuli-Venezia Giulia — In 2016, Regional cooncil o Friuli-Venezia Giulia appruivit a law which abolished the fower provinces which formit the region[5].
