Mapimí is ane o the 39 municipalities o Durango, in north-wastren Mexico. The municipal seat lees at Mapimí. The municipality covers an aurie o 7,126.7 km².
As o 2005, the municipality haed a total population of 22,940.[1]
Locatit in the northeastren portion o the state, it borders the municipalities o Lerdo, Gómez Palacio, Tlahualilo, Villa Hidalgo, San Pedro del Gallo, San Luis del Cordero an Nazas.
