Cuerámaro is a Mexican ceety (an municipality) locatit in Soothwast region o the state o Guanajuato. The municipality haes a aurie o 254.85 square kilometres (0.83% o the surface o the state) an is bordered tae the north bi Romita, tae the east bi Abasolo, tae the sooth bi Pénjamo, an tae the wast bi Manuel Doblado. The municipality haed a population o 25,610 inhabitants accordin tae the 2005 census.[1][2]
In pre-Columbie times the aurie wis inhabitit bi Guachichil fowk an eventually dominatit bi Tarascans, who gave the municipality its current name o Cuerámaro or "Coat o the Swamps."
