The Chornobyl Nuclear Pouer Plant or Chernobyl Nuclear Pouer Station (Ukrainian: Чорнобильська атомна електростанція, Roushie: Чернобыльская АЭС) is a decommissioned nuclear pouer station near the ceety o Pripyat, Ukraine, 14.5 km (9.0 mi) northwast o the ceety o Chornobyl, 16 km (9.9 mi) frae the Ukraine–Belaroushie border, an aboot 110 km (68 mi) north o Kiev. Reactor No. 4 wis the steid o the Chornobyl disaster in 1986 an the pouer plant is nou within a lairge restrictit aurie kent as the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
The nuclear pouer plant steid is tae be cleaned bi 2065. On Januar 3, 2010, a Ukrainian law stipulatin a programme toward this objective came intae effect.[1]
