Aldershot is a toun in the Inglis coonty o Hampshire, locatit on heathland aboot 60 km (37 mi) soothwast o Lunnon. The toun is administert bi Rushmoor Burgh Cooncil. The toun haes a population o 33,840,[1] while the Aldershot Urban Area, a loose conurbation (that includes ither touns, sic as Camberley, Farnborough, an Farnham an aw) haes a population o 243,344, makkin it the thirtiet-maistmuckle urban area in the Unitit Kinrick.[2]
Aldershot is kent for its connection wi the Breetish Airmy. This led tae rapid growt frae a sma chlachan tae a Victorian toun. The day, Aldershot is kent as the "Hame o the Breetish Airmy".[3]
Aldershot is twinned wi Sulechów in Poland, Meudon in Fraunce an Oberursel in Germany.
