Accept is the sel-titled debut album released bi the German hivy metal baund Accept. It wis recorded in 1978 an released in early 1979 on the German label Brain Records. Drums on the record wur played bi Frank Friedrich, but he chose no tae pursue a professional muisic career an sae his place wis taken bi Stefan Kaufmann juist prior tae the album's release.[2] Bassist Peter Baltes performs lead vocals on "Seawinds" an "Sounds of War".

Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann later remembered the debut as simply a collection o sangs the baund haed wirkit up ower the baund's formative years, wi nae real focus for the baund as o yet: "We were just playing songs that we had always played. It was material that had gathered up over the first few months and years of our existence and it was a mixture of all kinds of stuff." He recaws it sellin aroond 3,000 copies an aw. Lead vocalist Udo Dirkschneider expressed dissatisfaction wi the group's first effort leukin back on it: "Naturally, it was very exciting for us the first time we entered a recording studio but also disappointing at the same time."[3] Accept wad gain better production values an a mair cohesive direction on futur releases, but the debut wis an important early step that gained them the ability tae play the neebourin kintras o Belgium, Netherlands an Fraunce for the first time.
