Coahuila, formally Coahuila de Zaragoza (Spainyie pronunciation: [koaˈwila ðe saɾaˈɣosa]), officially Estado Libre y Soberano de Coahuila de Zaragoza (Scots: Free an Sovereign State o Coahuila de Zaragoza) is ane o the 31 states which, wi the Federal Destrict, compose the 32 Federal Entities o Mexico. The state is locatit in Northeastren Mexico.
Coahuila borders the Mexican states o Nuevo León tae the east, Zacatecas an San Luis Potosí tae the sooth, an Durango an Chihuahua tae the wast. Tae the north, Coahuila accoonts for a 512 kilometres (318 mi) stretch o the U.S. - Mexico border, adjacent tae the Unitit States state o Texas alang the course o the Rio Grande (Río Bravo del Norte). Wi an aurie o 151,563 square kilometres (58,519 sq mi), it is the naition's third-lairgest state. It comprises 38 municipalities (municipios). In 2010, Coahuila's population is 2,655,187 inhabitants.
