Tucumán (Spaingie pronunciation: [tukuˈmɑn]) is the maist densely populatit, an the smawest bi laund aurie, o the provinces o Argentinae. Locatit in the northwast o the kintra, the caipital is San Miguel de Tucumán, aften shortened tae Tucumán. Neebourin provinces are, clockwise frae the north: Salta, Santiago del Estero an Catamarca. The wird "Tucumán" is likely a deformation frae the Quechua leids. It mey be a deformation o the term "Yucumán", which denotes the place o oreegin o several rivers. It can be a deformation o the wird "Tucma" an aw, which means the end o things. Afore the Spaingie colonization, the region wis in the ooter leemits o the Inca Empire.[2]
