The Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic (Tajik: Республикаи Советии Социалистии Тоҷикистон Respublikai Sovetii Sotsialistii Tojikiston; Roushie: Таджикская Советская Социалистическая Республика Tadzhikskaya Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Respublika), kent as the Tajik SSR for short an aw, wis ane o the 15 republics that made up the Soviet Union. Efter the dissolution o the Soviet Union, the state ceased tae exist on 6 November 1994 wi the adoption o the new Constitution o Tajikistan.
