Steve Davis, OBE (born 22 August 1957) i an Inglis retired professional snooker player frae Plumstead, London. He dominat tha sport durin the 1980s, when he reached eight Warld Snooker Championship finals in nine years, won six world titles, and held the warld number one rankin for seven consecutive seasons. He i also known for the 1985 World Championship feenal against Dennis Taylor, which was decided on the feenal black ball.
Davis won a total o 28 ranking events, placin him fourth on the all-time list. In addition tae his six world titles, he won the Masters three times and the UK Championship six times, for a total o 15 Triple Crown titles, behind only Ronnie O'Sullivan (19) an Stephen Hendry (18). During the 1987–88 season, he became the first player to win all three Triple Crown events i a single season, and remains one o only three players (along wi Hendry and Mark Williams) to achieve this. . Davis wa namit the BBC's Sports Personality o the Year i 1988, he remains the only snooker player iver tae win the award.
