Roberto Remigio Benigni, Cavaliere di Gran Croce OMRI[1] (Italian pronunciation: [roˈbɛrto beˈniɲɲi];[2] born 27 October 1952) is an Italian actor, comedian, screenwriter an director. He co-wrote, directit an actit in the 1997 film Life Is Beautiful, which garnered him the Academy Awaird for Best Actor an the Academy Awaird for Best Foreign Leid Film. He an aa portrayed Inspector Clouseau's son in Son of the Pink Panther (1993) an haes collaborated wi filmmaker Jim Jarmusch in three o his films: Down by Law (1986), Night on Earth (1991) an Coffee and Cigarettes (2003).
