Monoceros (Greek: Μονόκερως) is a faint constellation on the celestial equator. Its name is Greek for unicorn. Its defineetion is attributit tae the 17t-century Dutch cartografer Petrus Plancius. It is bordered bi Orion tae the wast, Gemini tae the north, Canis Major tae the sooth an Hydra tae the east. Other borderin constellations include Canis Minor, Lepus an Puppis.
