Kulob (Tajik: Кӯлоб, Kûlob/Kūloв), an aa Kulab or Kulyab (Roushie: Куляб), is a ceety in Kulob district, Khatlon Province, Tajikistan. Locatit 203 km sooth-east o the caipital Dushanbe on the Yakhsu River (a right tributary o Panj), it is ane o the lairgest ceeties in the kinntra (pop. 100,000 in 2006).

Pairt o the Khanate o Bukhara syne the 16t century (the Emirate o Bukhara syne the 18t century), the ceety changed its name frae Khatlon tae Kulob in 1750.[1] In 1921, efter the faw o the Bukhara Emirate, Soviet rule wis established in Kulob an the ceety became an industrial center during the Soviet era.

In September 2006 Kulob celebratit its 2700t anniversary.[2][3] Shabnam Soraya sang a tribute tae the ceety at the celebrations.[4] Kay-Khotloni last keeng o the Khotlon wis on military servis o Amir Timyr during Afghanistan companies.
