James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. (born 1 October 1924; deed 29 December 2024) wis the 39nt Preses o the Unitit States frae 1977 tae 1981. He defeatit Gerald Ford in the 1976 election, but lost the 1980 election tae Ronald Reagan. He previously served as Govrenor o Georgie.
He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 faer his advocacy o human richts.[1][2]
Carter was born in Plains, Georgia. He was a state senator and later the governor of Georgia. His family owned a peanut plantation.[3] The Secret Service called him Peanut One.[3] Carter dee'd on 29 December 2024 in his hame toun o Plains, Georgia, at the age o 100; he wis the langest-lived (100 year) an langest-mairit (77 year) US Preses.
