Galium is a lairge genus o annual an perennial yerbaceous plants in the faimily Rubiaceae, occurrin in the temperate zones o baith the Northren an Soothren Hemispheres. Some species are informally kent as Bedstraw.[1]
Thare are ower 600 species of Galium,[2] wi estimates o 629[3] tae 650[4] as o 2013. The field madder, Sherardia arvensis, is a close relative an mey be ramfeeselt wi a tiny bedstraw. Asperula is a closely relatit genus an aw; some species o Galium (such as woodruff, G. odoratum) are occasionally placit tharein.
