Eratosthenes o Cyrene (/ɛrəˈtɒsθənz/; Greek: Ἐρατοσθένης, IPA: [eratostʰénɛːs]; c. 276 BC[1] – c. 195/194 BC[2]) wis a Greek mathematician, geografer, poet, astronomer, an muisic theorist.
