Erandio is a toun an municipality locatit in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous commonty o Basque Kintra, northern Spain.

In 1415, durin the War o the Baunds, the corregidor, the ryally-appointit govrenor o the Biscayan hermandad, actin on ryal orders, siphoned aff Biscayan wheat tae the Asturias, incitin a rebellion. The Biscayans wur defeatit at Erandio wi the loss o saxty men an the wheat transfers continued.

Several annual festivals are celebratit in Erandio. Maist o thaim are fiestas patronales (patronage festivals, held in the days aroond the date dedicatit tae the patron saunts unner whose advocation kirks an hermits are). The local public holiday o the municipality rotates yearly on August 10, August 28 an the corpus Christi day.[1]

Erandio haes celebratit a street muisic festival cried Musikale an aw, wi muisic baunds mairchin an playin in the neebourheids o Altzaga and Astrabudua. Musikale wis oreeginally conceived in the neebourin municipality o Leioa. For some years it wis held simultaneously in Leioa, Erandio, Basauri an Sestao, but the ither municipalities droppit it, an in 2013 anerly Erandio organisit it.[2]

Erandio is connectit tae ither municipalities o Biscay (like Barakaldo, Bermeo, Bilbao, Derio, Getxo, Larrabetzu, Laukiz, Leioa, Mungia an Muskiz) bi Bizkaibus bus services [3] an bi Line 1 o Metro Bilbao, which haes three stations in Erandio (Lutxana, Erandio, an Astrabudua).
