Cairn Watter is a smaw river in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. The river, formt bi the infaw o Castlefern Watter, Craigdarroch Watter, an Dalwhat Watter, flowes for 18.5 mile sootheast til the Cluden Watter.[1]

The Castlefairn is jynt bi the Craigdarroch, an syne bi the Dalwhat, baith fae its left, juist ablo the veelage o Minnyhive in the pairish o Glencairn. The infaw o thir burns forms the Cairn Watter. The pairish is name't for the river glen. The river flowes east past Kirkland, an sootheast tae Newtounairds, whaur it is jynt bi the Auld Watter tae form Cluden Watter. Cluden Watter flowes east an sootheast tae jyne the River Nith juist north o Dumfries.[2] The river aince define't pairt o the boond atween Dumfriesshire til the east and Kirkcoubrieshire til the wast.[3]
