Ahome (Spaingie pronunciation: [aˈome]) is a municipality on the coast o the Sea o Cortez in the northwastren pairt o the Mexican state o Sinaloa; it is adjacent tae Higuera de Zaragoza, Sinaloa, an the soothren mairch o Sonora state. It reportit haed 388,344 indwallers in the 2005 census. Ahome (population 10,840) is the name o the seicont-lairgest commonty in the municipality. The municipal seat is the port ceety o Los Mochis, its lairgest commonty. It is the third maist important municipality in the state o Sinaloa, an is a commercial corridor tae the northwast o the kintra. It is situatit on the Paceefic coastal plain, at the entrance o the Guwf o Californie an lees in the hert o a rich agricultural region, el Valle de Fuerte (Valley o Fuerte River). It staunds at 25°33′50″N 108°46′00″W / 25.56389°N 108.76667°W.
