It wis the ninth Champion o Champions event, which wis first held in 1978. The championship features 16 participants who hae won Warld Snooker events throoghout the prior snooker season. As an invitational event, it carried no world rankin pynts. Winners of baith the Warld Seniors Championship and Weemen's Warld Championship competit at the event for the first time. The event featurt a prize fund of £440,000 wi the winner receivin £150,000.
Ronnie O'Sullivan wis the defendin champion, haein defeatit Kyren Wilson 10–9 in the feenal o the 2018 event. O'Sullivan lost 5–6 tae Neil Robertson i the semi-feenals.
