West Azarbaijan or West Azerbaijan (Persian: آذربایجان غربی, Azerbaijani: غربی آذربایجان, Kurdish:ئازەربایجانا رۆژاڤا ) is ane o the 31 provinces o Iran. It is locatit in the Northwast o the kintra, borderin Turkey, Iraq an Nakhchivan, an the provinces o East Azerbaijan, Zanjan an Kurdistan.
The province o Wast Azerbaijan covers an aurie o 39,487 km², or 43,660 km² includin Lake Urmia. In 2006 the province haed a population o 3,015,361 [1]. The caipital ceety o the province is Urmia.
