Le Havre (French pronunciation: [lə ɑvʁ]) is a ceety in the Seine-Maritime depairtment o the Upper Normandy region in Fraunce. It is situatit in north-wastren Fraunce, on the richt bank o the mooth o the river Seine on the Inglis Channel. Le Havre is the maist populous commune in the Haute-Normandie region, although the total population o the greater Le Havre conurbation is smawer than that o Rouen. It is the seicont lairgest subprefectur in Fraunce (efter Reims). Its port is the seicont busiest in Fraunce (efter that o Marseille). Syne 1974 it haes been the see o the diocese o Le Havre.
