Club de Fútbol Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, commonly referred tae as Tigres UANL, or simply Tigres, is a Mexican profeesional fitbaw club based in San Nicolás de los Garza, a ceety locatit in the Monterrey metropolitan aurie.[3] Foondit in 1960, the club haes spent maist o its history in Liga MX, the top tier o the Mexican fitbaw.
The club haed their first major success in the 1975-76 saison, winnin the domestic cup. In the 1977-78, they wan their first league title. The team haes wan the Liga MX an the Copa MX three times each.
Tigres is the offeecial team o the public varsity o the state o Nuevo León, the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Their hame is the 42,000 capacity Estadio Universitario in San Nicolás de los Garza, inside the varsity complex.[4] The team's tradeetional kit colours are gowd an blue.
It is ane o the twa profeesional fitbaw teams o Nuevo León. Tigres hae a fierce rivalry wi C.F. Monterrey, wi whom they hae contestit the Clásico Regiomontano syne 1974, a derby that is considered as ane o the maist heatit rivalries in Mexican sport.
