Tippett grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma.[4] She studiet History at Brown Varsity, an spent a semester as an exchynge student at Wilhelm Pieck University in Rostock, in then-Communist East Germany.[5] She haes twa childer an is divorcit.[6]
