She later muivit tae CNN International, in Lunnon an aw, wirkin mainly as co-anchor on CNN Today afore returnin tae Australie as weekend presenter o ABC News in New Sooth Wales.
On 30 November 2007, Phillips suffered an on-air coughin fit while presentin ABC News NSW , forcin the ABC tae switch tae a simulcast o the Victoria state bulletin frae its Melbourne station till her coughin fit subsidit. In her 2010 beuk, A Pressure Cooker Saved My Life, she describes the episode as a result o a stress-inducit laryngeal spasm.

In 2002, Phillips marriet Mario Milostic, an Australie graphic designer, efter a sax-week courtship. Thair first bairn, Marcus, wis born in 2003 an thair dochter, Mischa, in 2006.
