The Buddhas o Bamiyan (Persie:بت های باميان – bothā-ye Bāmiyān) war 4t an 5t-century[1] monumental statues o staundin buddha carved intae the side o a cliff in the Bamyan valley in the Hazarajat region o central Afghanistan, 230 km (140 mi) northwast o Kabul at an elevation o 2,500 meter (8,200 feet) bi Hazaras. Thay war destroyed bi the Taliban in 2001.
