Biography[eedit | eedit soorce]

Arallu wis creatit as the solo project o Moti "Butchered" Daniel, a bass guitarist who haes performed live wi Melechesh. The debut album The War on the Wailing Wall arrived in 2001 an featured "a drum machine programmed tae ludicrous speed".[2] In 2002, Arallu released their "iconoclastic" seicont album Satanic War in Jerusalem.[1] Nir Nakav frae the baund Salem wis responsible for the drums an the traditional Goblet drum while Daniel performed on aw ither instruments and vocals. The album featured a cover version o Slayer's "Evil Has No Boundaries". Daniel expandit the baund's line-up efter the release o this album and a DVD Visual Chaos Invasion wis released in the follaein year.[3]

In September 2003, Daniel's brither wis kidnapped an held tae ransom bi guerrillas frae the Colombian organisation Ejército de Liberación Nacional. Daniel wis successful in negotiatin for his brither's release.[3]

The year 2005 saw the release o Arallu's third album The Demon From The Ancient World wi guest performers frae various Israeli acts includin Zeev Tananboim o Salem.[4] Daniel returned the favor wi a guest performance on Salem's chairt-toppin Strings Attached album.[5]

In September 2007, Arallu opened for Mayhem's concert in Tel Aviv. The fuitage frae the performance wis filmed an is scheduled for release in 2008 as the baund's seicont DVD.[6] Their fowert album Desert Battles - Descending to the Sands wis released in 2009.[6]

Style[eedit | eedit soorce]

Arallu performs black metal wi oriental influences an touches o thrash metal. Critic Roberto Marinelli describes their style as "reminiscent o early Venom, Sodom, an Voivod: thrashy, monochromatic, unnerproduced an full o ideas that far ootstrip their abilities".[7] Daniel haes remarked in an interview that Arallu's style haes tae be oriental, thrashy an barbaric "aw at ance".[8]
